When the temperature is hot, you’d wish you have an air conditioning unit or a fan to cool you down. But hey, have you ever wondered who invented these helpful cooling appliances?
Here’s a little trivia for you:
The electric fan was invented in 1886 by an American engineer named Schulyer Wheeler. He was only 22 years old when he invented a two bladed fan. As for the air conditioning, it was an engineer and an inventor named Willis Carrier who designed the first scientific system that enables to clean, circulate and control the temperature and humidity of air indoors. Thus the famous brand Carrier of air conditioning today.
But fans are more widely used compared to air condition because it is affordable to buy and doesn’t eat up much electricity. Most commonly used fans are the ceiling fans which you can check out at these links:
The view from our hotel room in Ekaterinburg in one of our business trips. As you can see everything is covered with snow. It was minus 20 degrees, very cold! You wouldn't need an aircon or a ceiling fan in your hotel room, all you need is a HEATER to keep you warm!
But my friends in tropical countries would very well benefit from the cool air of craftmade fans especially during the hot summer days.
Get loads of different fan varieties at Farreys. They sell thousands of unique ceiling fans and ceiling fan accessories from more than a dozen popular ceiling fan manufacturers.
Driving is exhilarating especially in a fast speed. See how fast you can drive at Germany’s autobahn. In YouTube you can see many videos taken by drivers with speed from 180-250 kmh. This video below shows how driving a BMW E90 330d 231HP at 260KMH can be. Have a look:
When my friend I traveled to UK, we were sometimes going at 180kmh and it wasn’t at autobahn even!
If you want to try driving at autobahn in Germany, check out the hotels in Berlin or the neighboring hotels in Vienna. You’ll need a good rest after the scary ride! Click hotels in Berlin or hotels in Vienna in Deutsche.
Last summer my office mate and I decided to visit United Kingdom during weekend. However, our reason to see this great country was completely different than of usual travelers - we were not into admiring sights of the Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, the Buckingham Palace or staying in any hotels in London. We went there for computer shopping.
Actually the act of shopping and paying was done earlier that week and we went there as messengers to 'pick it up' from my friend who kept our hardware treasures in his room. And since our shopping spree was quite big and out of control, we had to use car to bring it all back home. Thanks to an online route planner we found the fastest route - 12hrs 21 minutes and 1216km one way. I printed it out and after work on Friday evening we’re ready to leave.
This is how computer freaks shop and travel which you don’t have to follow suit. You can travel to UK by taking a plane and booking in hotels in Birmingham or hotels in Manchester for a comfortable stay.
*I'll post more about that trip in the coming days.
I am a techie guy always hunting for the best deal on computer hardware. Most of my "treasures" were found and ordered online. Online bidding is my cup of tea. Now I’ve heard that coupon codes can also give shoppers big savings.
I recently found a HP D530 refurbished Intel Desktop PC Intel P4 sold at Tiger Direct with 2.6 GHz, 512MB, 40GB, CD-ROM and floppy 10/100 LAN and WinXP Pro operating system for only $299.99 using Tiger Direct coupons. A Dell Inspiron 530 can be bought for $449 with Dell coupons. It's up for you to decide if it's a good buy or not.
I advise you to compare prices to give you many options. The internet is a vast space, you’ll find many treasures waiting to be dug there!
